“Don’t forget to be awesome.”  – Sunday River liftie

Sunday River’s lifties were by far the happiest one’s I’ve ever encountered. Especially that guy above. And how could you not when you work and ski at a place with this kind of view??

Sunday River Panoramic

My weekend trip to Sunday River was absolutely amazing. A bluebird day, spring temperatures, a decent goggle tan and surprisingly awesome conditions certainly made a good first impression. Another comp’d ticket also makes the day twice as nice. Oh, and this lovely view too.

Sunday River Foggy Goggle Beer

I started my day with my first ride up the Chondola (the gondola part) and then made our way over to Jordan Bowl to enjoy some snow-covered trees before the sun melted it all away. Despite a slow, fairly flat ride, the Kansas trail provided some of the most beautiful scenery of the day. Snow-covered trees, then mountain view, then trees, back to mountain view. Incredible.

Don’t take my word for it, though.

A great day at Sunday River provides some pretty decent footage, too. Although nothing extreme happened on this trip, the Kansas trail view is worth the camera-on-the-head stares from strangers.

If you couldn’t tell…I really loved Sunday River and I definitely hope to head back again this season! I also get to check #s 5 and 19 off my Maine Bucket List. Whoop whoop!

What’s your favorite New England Ski Resort? What resorts need to make my next bucket list? Also, don’t forget to be awesome! 🙂
